Denis Sumarokov
Hello my name is Denis Sumarokov. I am currently a part time worker at WeCodeKC. As well as a full time employee at ASI as Electrical/Controls Engineer. My main role at WeCodeKC is IT assistance. This role includes a work with a variety of electronics and equipment that is being used in our classes. However, WeCodeKC have many more opportunities and different roles. As a personal example, I had a chance to develop a server and even teach a class. Additional often I have an opportunity to be a teacher assistant and help out students in the classroom. Recently I was able to try out myself as a coach assistant for WeCodeKC robotics team, as well as provide my assistance in creating a robot that made a first pitch for Royals. It was a very interesting experience that happens rarely. I have become a part of WeCodeKC in 2022 as a volunteer and I have stayed with them ever since. WeCodeKC have provided me with a lot of opportunities as well as knowledge and skills that I am able to utilized in my job. Besides WeCodeKC have a lot of connection that can be used to find any career of interest.
Kyaira Boughton
I interned with WeCode KC for a year from 2021-2022, which was an incredibly transformative experience and provided me with the tools needed for my subsequent internships. For the past two years, I have interned at Amazon, an opportunity made possible by the skills I gained during my time at WeCode KC and the invaluable guidance from Ms. Tammy Buckner. She has been a wonderful mentor and wrote the recommendation letter that helped me secure my position at Amazon. Currently, I am a rising junior at Duke Kunshan University near Shanghai, China. I am also very excited to return to Kansas City next summer and hope to mentor the next generation through WeCode KC.
