Ever since I was little I wanted to understand every aspect of the universe down to the minute, and a big part of my unvierse was the computers, videogames, and apps that composed my daily life. When I had the oppurtunity to intern with WeCode KC for around 2 years from 2020-22, I learned the in and outs of software developement while working on a published app with industry mentors. Wecode KC was a pivotal experience, which confirmed my love for engineering and led me to eventually major in Astronautical engineering at the University of Southern California. This summer I built on my WeCode KC learnings when I interned at Amazon Lab 126, using python to refactor their Thermal automation framework.

I interned with WeCode KC for a year from 2021-2022, which was an incredibly transformative experience and provided me with the tools needed for my subsequent internships. For the past two years, I have interned at Amazon, an opportunity made possible by the skills I gained during my time at WeCode KC and the invaluable guidance from Ms. Tammy Buckner. She has been a wonderful mentor and wrote the recommendation letter that helped me secure my position at Amazon. Currently, I am a rising junior at Duke Kunshan University near Shanghai, China. I am also very excited to return to Kansas City next summer and hope to mentor the next generation through WeCode KC.
